Bill to tackle delays that slow down home construction and drive up prices, says official

In an effort to deal with the skyrocketing real estate prices in Ontario, the Ford government unveiled their plans today. Proposed changes include;

  • allow zoning changes to increase densification within municipalities and to speed up the processes involved to get houses built quicker.

  • A 10 year target of 1.5 million homes built. Though this will not have immediate impact on the current real estate climate, it does try to resolve the lack of supply issue.
